During the 2025-26 season, he made eight appearances for Leeds' Under-18 team before impressing in his Under-21 debut, where he maintained a clean sheet against Tottenham.

The Path to Professionalism

Cook's football journey began not as a goalkeeper, but as an outfield player until he was 12, inspired largely by his older brother. “I just said, oh, I’ll give it a go. Why not?” he recalls. He speaks highly of his fellow keepers, including experienced Alex Cairns, who’s taken him under his wing. “He’s a really nice guy and gives you lots of advice,” Cook states, emphasizing the camaraderie within the unit.

He often finds himself awed by the opportunity to train alongside established stars. “It’s an unbelievable experience. Every time I get the chance, I try to work as hard as I can to be part of that environment,” he shares.

Representing Australia fills him with pride, as he dreams of transitioning to the senior national team one day. “Putting on the Australian jersey is what we all aspire to.
